India’s most searched cricketer at just 14
At just 14 years of age, has become the talk of the town. From being an unknown cricketing aspirant from Samastipur in Bihar, he has gone on to become the most searched cricketer in India today, 30 April, 2025.
A 35-ball century that shook the IPL
This feat was achieved after Suryavanshi scripted history two days ago. Playing only his third match for the Rajasthan Royals (RR), the young prodigy smashed a 35-ball century against Gujarat Titans (GT), making him the youngest centurion in men’s T20 cricket and the youngest to do so in IPL history. His 101 off 38 balls, laced with five fours and 11 sixes, helped RR chase down a 210-run target with ease, making it the fastest 200-plus chase in IPL history.
Records tumbled during the onslaught
Meanwhile, he broke Yusuf Pathan’s 37-ball ton record for RR and equalled the Indian record for most sixes in an IPL innings, and is now just behind Chris Gayle, who reached his fastest three-figure mark in 30 balls. The southpaw began his innings with a six and then pulled Rashid Khan for a maximum to reach his milestone. This came just after he had hit Karim Janat for 30 runs in a single over.
From U-19 star to IPL sensation
Since the news of his selection for the IPL 2025, he grabbed immense eyeballs, with many waiting to see him play live. Notably, the only reason he got a spot in the XI was due to Sanju Samson’s injury. In his debut match, he smashed a six off his first ball against Shardul Thakur. Before the IPL, Suryavanshi had already impressed in the Under-19 circuit with a 58-ball Test century against Australia U19 and an unbeaten triple hundred in Bihar.
