Singer Pravasthi’s recent allegations against the Padutha Theeyaga team, particularly targeting judges M.M. Keeravani, Sunitha, and Chandrabose, have sparked a huge online debate. She claimed that she was eliminated unfairly and was also further bodyshamed. She also alleged that Sunitha always subjects her to criticism, and even Keeravani looked down on her after knowing that she sings at weddings. Her video is going viral on social media and has become a trending topic in the music world. The backlash and support have been pouring in from different quarters of social media.
Amidst this, Sunitha shared her side of the story on social media. “Character isn’t built on rumors, and neither is reputation destroyed by them. We remain confident that the truth will prevail over speculation,” she wrote while sharing the video.
Addressing Pravasthi’s accusations directly, Sunitha recalled her long association with the young singer, emotionally stating that she had held her since she was a child and had always supported her talent. “I praised Pravasthi often and would always be happy to see her do well. However, I am hurt over how Pravasthi has now spoken publicly and harshly about me and the show’s team. It was shocking to hear such words from someone I had known with affection for so long,” she said.
Sunitha pointed out that Pravasthi, being an experienced participant in many competitions, knows how these shows function, especially the processes around song selection and rights issues. She questioned why Pravasthi hadn’t mentioned these technicalities while accusing the team and urged her to share the whole truth with the public if fairness was the real goal.
Sunitha further clarified that she had gone out of her way to support Pravasthi professionally, collaborating on an album video and giving her opportunities. She asked why someone who didn’t like her, as claimed by Pravasthi, would agree to work with her on such projects. She also reminded Pravasthi of a specific incident during the elimination episode, stating that Pravasthi’s mother had pointed a finger at her and blamed her directly, a moment she had silently endured out of professionalism.
Sunitha stressed that victories and losses are part of life, especially in competitive fields like music. She urged Pravasthi to accept defeat gracefully, learn from it, and continue improving. Sunitha emphasized the importance of respecting seniors, being open to criticism, and keeping focus on growth rather than blame.
On the other hand, the show’s producers, Gnapika Entertainments, also released a video, revealing their version.
