Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth is known to be a spiritual person and even goes on Himalayan sojourns for meditation before commencing a new project. The stalwart actor, while floating his political party, Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM), in 2017, announced that his party would bring secular and spiritual politics to Tamil Nadu.
Now, Rajini’s statements on youths drifting from Indian roots are going viral on the internet. Thalaivar said Indian youths are “immersed in Western culture while Westerners find peace in Indian culture and meditation.” In a video message during a recent event organised by his wife Latha Rajinikanth in Chennai, Rajini said, “In this mobile phone era, the youth and some adults are not aware of the traditions and culture of our country. They follow Western culture without knowing about the glory and greatness of our country.”
“Westerners turn to India because they do not find happiness and peace in their traditions and culture. They say India is where they find peace and joy and practice meditation, yoga, and natural living. Latha is now trying to create awareness about the same. I pray God blesses her efforts,” the Coolie actor added.
On the movies front, Rajini has two of the most eagerly awaited Tamil movies – Coolie under Lokesh Kanagaraj’s direction and Nelson Dilipkumar’s Jailer 2, the keenly awaited sequel to the blockbuster action drama, Jailer. While Coolie hits theaters on August 14, 2025, Jailer 2’s shoot is currently underway in full swing.
