Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor is wrapping up other commitments before stepping back into the con-man world of Farzi. He is reportedly set to complete filming Cocktail 2, the sequel to the 2012 Deepika Padukone starrer Cocktail. He will be joined by Rashmika Mandanna and Kriti Sanon. The film is being produced by Dinesh Vijan.
Actress Raashii Khanna, who played a key role in Farzi, had earlier confirmed that a sequel is indeed on the cards. Speaking to News18 Showsha, she said, “A sequel will definitely happen. Raj-DK are still in the writing stage. That’s what I was told by them. But they’re the right people to answer this question. Shahid is also as clueless as me. We’re just waiting for a call from them that they’re ready with the script and that we can start shooting.”
Farzi, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video in February, featured an ensemble cast including Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi, Kay Kay Menon, Raashii Khanna, and Bhuvan Arora. The show followed the story of a small-time artist drawn into the world of counterfeit currency.
Currently, Shahid is filming Arjun Ustara, a gritty underworld drama directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. Set in the 90s, the film also stars Triptii Dimri, Randeep Hooda, and Nana Patekar. The film is slated for a theatrical release on December 5, 2025.
