Travelling is often perceived as something that costs money, but good travelling experiences are not limited to 5-star hotels, expensive restaurants or first-class flights.
We understand that it is overwhelming to look for cheap places to travel, places that are genuinely affordable and yet leave you with unforgettable memories. To resolve this problem, we talked to Shrikant Goenka, Chairman of IAAPI (Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries), who shared 10 -friendly destinations to travel to in 2025.
Vietnam, growing immensely popular among budget , is one of the most affordable destinations in Southeast Asia. “Culturally enriched places, cheap accommodation alongside meals that cost no more than $5 makes Vietnam a dream for budget travellers,” says Goenka. From street food huts in Hanoi to the breathtaking views of Ha Long Bay and the historical splendor of Hoi An, Vietnam is truly a gem, he shares.
According to Goenka, “The country gained significant attention for its marvelous Caucasus mountains and ancient monasteries paired with delicious local wine. Cozy guesthouses and delicious food further make Tbilisi, the capital, a must-visit.” Georgia is certainly the best choice for 2025
Indonesia brings beautiful beaches, temples, and volcano treks which are all strikingly cheaper in comparison to other commercial places, highlights the travel expert. He adds that Yogyakarta and Lombok are more reasonably priced and equally beautiful as the popular Bali.
“The combination of Europe and Asia is infused in Turkey, where vibrant bazaars melt alongside the delicious cuisine making the region captivating to explore,” asserts Goenka. Istanbul and Cappadocia are must-see destinations, according to the travel expert, and given the state of the economy, he advises visiting Turkey between 2025 as the Lira weakens.
Portugal is among the most affordable options for anyone wishing to visit Western Europe. For Goenka, Portugal’s rich history and amazing seafood make travel there seem almost mandatory.
Nepal is a welcoming and warm country with so much to explore! Hotel expenses are nothing compared to the breathtaking treks that the country offers, adds Goenka. It is well known for its lavish cuisine-nepali thalis, tibetan food and ofcourse momo!
Goenka says, “Unrivaled to Cancun and Tulum, Mexico has Oaxaca, Guanajuato, and Chiappas which makes the passport and ticket feel strikingly cheap for the world class street food and ancient ruins.”
Romania is a hidden gem of a European country, considering it’s so rich in history and culture. “Transylvania’s magical castles, picturesque countryside, and Bucharest—the capital city—it’s all available at a lower price compared to other European countries,” shares Goenka.
Sri Lanka takes pride in having tea plantations, wildlife safaris, tropical beaches, and historical ruins all in one place. As early as 2025, will find this place irresistible due to its friendly staff and affordable lodging options, adds Goenka.
Enjoy camel riding in the Sahara, explore the blue city of Chefchaouen and this is all while immersing yourself in the souks of Marrakech, recommends Goenka. All of this is available at an incredibly low price, making Morocco the best travel destination.
